1970 MUSTANG "TRANS-CAMMER"

Every project at Grand Touring Garage has an objective. The "TRANS-CAMMER" had a unique list of objectives that were not only accomplished, but were recognized by one of the industry's highest honors on November 4 at the 2009 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show in Las Vegas.

DESIGNER

Phil Koenen, designer and builder at Grand Touring Garage, accepted the award at a special banquet event held at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas. The “TRANS-CAMMER” will be digitally re-created to be a playable car in version 5 of the Gran Turismo video game.

2009 BEST OF SHOW

The '70 Mustang won the 2009 Sony PlayStation Gran Turismo Best of Show award.

This is bestowed to only one automobile. Mr. Kazunori Yamauchi - creator of the Gran Turismo driving game - said of the event, "We have been very pleased with the high quality of vehicles vying for the award the past seven years, and look forward to having this 1970 Ford Mustang 'Trans-Cammer' join our list of distinguished past winners as part of the Gran Turismo franchise."

OBJECTIVES

• Create a vehicle that is instantly recognizable, yet different.
• Design and engineer the vehicle to not only perform as a street legal automobile, but one that is also capable of competing.
• Integrate proven aerodynamic designs and classic styling ques to create a blend of past and present automotive styling.

The custom, aerodynamic styled '70 Mustang is powered by a 1965 Ford 427 SOHC producing 600 horsepower on pump gas! Attention to every detail is what makes the "TRANS-CAMMER" an award winner.
